We are a resource team aimed at helping our community with accessing free resources for children about topics such as healthy eating habits, meal planning, making better beverage choices, moving our body, starting a garden at home, and much more. Our goal is to provide weekly resources for you and our community about topics relating to Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Gardening. Meet the staff
Marisela Mendez
I am a nutrition educator for Yuba county. I have conducted cooking and nutrition classes for participants of different age ranges from a multitude of diverse communities. I am originally from Long Beach, CA and received my bachelor's degree in psychology from California State University, Monterey Bay in 2018.
Rochelle Hatiya
I am a program assistant at the Center for Healthy Communities. I have a bachelor’s degree in Health Science with an emphasis in Health Education from Chico State University. My background is in program reporting and administrative work. I am also very passionate about helping others create a healthy lifestyle.
